🌈 One Year of eg Play Therapy: A Year of Brave Little Steps

One year ago, eg Play Therapy opened its doors with a simple but powerful belief:
Children don’t always have the words — but they always have play.
Today, as we celebrate our first birthday, we pause to reflect on the incredible journey that has unfolded over the past 12 months. A year filled with courage, connection, healing, laughter, tears, growth, and countless small, brave moments inside the playroom.
Because in Play Therapy, the magic is often quiet.
It happens in the way a child places a tiny figure in a sand tray.
In the careful building of a tower, only to knock it down again.
In the fierce roar of a toy dinosaur.
In the safe silence shared between therapist and child.
And over time, those moments become stories of change.
💛 The Children Who Taught Me
Every child who has walked into the playroom this year has been a teacher.
They’ve shown extraordinary resilience. They’ve reminded me how creative, intuitive, and brave children truly are. They’ve trusted the process — and trusted me — in ways I never take for granted.
Watching children slowly feel safer in themselves, more confident, more settled, more able to cope with their world… that is the real celebration of this year.
🤝 Gratitude to Parents and Caregivers
To the parents and caregivers who took the step to reach out — often when things felt hard, confusing, or overwhelming — thank you.
Seeking support for your child is an act of deep love.
Your openness, trust, and willingness to be part of the therapeutic journey has made all the difference. Play Therapy works best when children are supported by the caring adults in their lives, and this year has been a true partnership.
🌱 Growing a Safe Space
Over the past year, eg Play Therapy has grown into more than a service. It has become:
A safe space for children to be themselves
A place where big feelings are welcome
A calm room where healing happens gently
A space filled with art materials, tiny figures, puppets, games, and imagination
But most importantly, a space filled with acceptance and understanding.
✨ Looking Ahead
As we step into year two, the mission remains the same:
To help children feel safer, stronger, and more understood through the power of play.
There is so much more to come — more families to support, more children to meet, more growth, and more tiny brave steps inside the playroom.
🎂 Thank You
Thank you to every child, every parent, every professional who has referred, supported, encouraged, and believed in eg Play Therapy this past year.
This first year has been an honour.
Here’s to many more years of play, healing, and helping children find their way — one small step at a time.
Thank you,
eg Play Therapy
