Ending the Year with Paint, Laughter, and Christmas Magic 🎄🎨

Just before finishing up for Christmas, I had the absolute pleasure of running a fun and meaningful arts and crafts session with one of the children I support and her younger sister, who has a disability.

The older sister often finds it difficult to know how to interact and play with her sibling, so I decided to bring along my trusty arts and crafts bag and create an activity they could enjoy together. With paint at the ready and plenty of enthusiasm, we set to work creating beautiful Christmas handprint paintings.

As the session unfolded, something really special happened. The girls laughed, got gloriously messy, and worked side by side, turning simple handprints into festive keepsakes. We even made an extra surprise canvas for them to gift to their mum and dad on Christmas Day — a present filled with colour, love, and shared effort.

It wasn’t about perfection or staying clean. It was about connection, creativity, and making memories together. Watching the girls enjoy each other’s company and take pride in what they’d created was incredibly rewarding.

A lovely, heartwarming way to end the working year — and a reminder that sometimes a bit of paint can bring people closer than words ever could. 💛✨
